The main tasks of the Land Code and of land legislation are to regulate land relations in order to ensure — in the interests of present and future generations — the scientifically grounded and rational use and protection of land, the restoration and improvement of soil fertility, the preservation and improvement of the natural environment, the creation of conditions for the development of all forms of economic activity on the basis of equal rights, and the protection of the rights of legal entities and individuals to land plots, as well as to strengthen the rule of law in this field. As land is a national asset, its rational use is required and it is protected by the state.
