Today is 21 October — the Day of the Uzbek Language. First of all, I sincerely congratulate you on this blessed holiday — the Day of the Uzbek Language.
Just as the Motherland where a person was born and the parents who brought them into the world and raised them are dear and honoured, so too is the mother tongue that defines their identity and spiritual world precious and revered.
Preserving and developing this priceless treasure, which is a clear mirror of our people’s thinking, is one of our most honourable tasks today.
The Uzbek language is an important factor of the unity, integrity and cohesion of our people. Ensuring the all-round development of the Uzbek language — the means expressing our national culture and identity — and consistently and fully realising its potential as the state language is an important task.
Systematic work is also being carried out in the agricultural sector to strengthen the prestige of the Uzbek language, to organise effective record-keeping in the state language and to achieve unconditional compliance with the legislation. In raising the international prestige of our mother tongue and in bringing it into the ranks of languages developed on the basis of national and universal concepts, each of us must treat our language with deep respect.
The Uzbek language is the language of Uzbekistan! And it is this Motherland that protects it as a state and fully ensures its development and legal foundations!
This makes our sense of homeland even stronger and increases our love for our language. It would be no exaggeration to say that over the years the Uzbek language has become a language of kindness that connects representatives of more than a hundred nations and ethnic groups in our country.
