Today, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the UNDP Office in Uzbekistan and the State Scientific and Design Institute "O'zdavyerloyiha" under the Ministry of Agriculture, further strengthening cooperation between the parties.
🤝 This cooperation will contribute to the implementation of the "Comprehensive Protection, Management, and Restoration of Landscapes of High Natural Value in Uzbekistan" (ECOLAND) project, which is funded by the Global Environment Facility and implemented by UNDP and the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) participating as a project partner.
🌎Within the framework of the ECOLAND project, UNDP and its partners are working to strengthen integrated landscape management, restore degraded ecosystems, support sustainable livelihoods, and improve the effective use of evidence and knowledge in environmental decision-making. These priority areas reflect the broader goals of the project, which aim to align ecosystem protection and restoration with the results of sustainable development.
