A conference within the “Digital Samarkand” project was held in cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the “Uzbekcosmos” agency and the French company “Airbus Defence and Space”.
This project is being implemented with the support and participation of the company “Airbus Defence and Space” within the French Government’s “FASEP” grant programme. Under it, more than 210,000 hectares of agricultural land in the Jomboy, Oqdaryo and Payariq districts of the Samarkand region were selected, and the crops there were analysed on the basis of satellite data.
This data will be provided to state bodies and land users within useful services. The project, which began in November 2021, is planned to be completed in 2023.
