The history of land management goes back almost to the era of primitive society. Even in those times, people understood the value of land.
The first land management technical college in the history of Uzbekistan was established in the Samarkand region in 1924, and in 1931 the first land management engineers and specialists graduated from it.
Education at the technical colleges consisted mainly of practical classes.
In 1925–29, a land and water reform was carried out in Uzbekistan. This reform was implemented in three stages depending on local conditions and the level of preparation. Later, the collectivisation of agriculture was carried out and collective and state farms were formed.
For reference: in the 1920s–30s, the period of study at technical colleges was 7 years.
